Glen Abbey

This is an 8.5x11 flyer for a summer BBQ celebrating the first anniversary of Glen Abbey Assisted Living facility. The overall goal was to inform the public about the event in a fun and festive way.

Some challenges faced with this design was choosing imagery that would compliment the theme without distracting from the message, as well as making sure the information was delivered properly and had a clear hierarchy.

Summer BBQ's evoke the picnic feel and it was easy to be cutesy with that aesthetic. This design is pushing it with four different fonts but they all work together to create visual separation of different information.

It was important to use an editing eye when creating this design. As with collages, it's easy to "throw in the kitchen sink" if you're not careful.

I am very happy with how it turned out. It's a fun flyer and I like how playful it is.
